Harbour Development Plan
We were approached by the D E & T, Department for the Economy and Transport in the Welsh Assembly, to discuss the ways in which we felt Barmouth could be improved throughout, for residents and tourist alike.
We put forward our views on the projects we hoped to achieve and the completed ones, and the meeting proved very positive and informative.
However it was clear that another large scale project was needed for the Harbour Area, and we decided to put our views across and create a comprehensive plan outlining the ways we thought would better the area.
The new plan, a first draft of ideas, has been presented to the Town Council by us, and we have gained their full support and backing to continue with it.
We also passed this on to the representatives of the D E & T and there will be meeting in June to discuss this further, and hopefully the first stages of this can be considered and adopted.
We also asked the Harbour Basin Committee to imput into this project and we will be pressing forward together with this throughout this year.
Our first aim is to get the go ahead for a Feasability Study, which will take 12-18 months to complete. After that we hope that whatever we can get will be started and the Harbour can have the dramatic makeover we feel it needs.
