You can now sponsor a bench - £500 for 5 years – In Memory of or Business it is up to you

Barmouth Resort Improvement Group is a small progressive non profit group of local people, who are committed to a common goal of improving Barmouth, both as a town for local residents, and as a holiday resort for our much loved local tourist industry.

In a truly radical and ambitious way we aim to achieve this overall objective by fulfilling a variety of proposals that would range from the simple tidying of neglected small areas and corners of local authority land, to full-blown resort changing projects that will make Barmouth the envy of the local community.

Our main project has now been completed, with the placing of 60 Palm Trees (below) along the length of the Barmouth Promenade. Funded by local businesses and individuals it has made such a difference to the Promenade and looks magnificent.

Cordyline Australis or Cabbage Palm

Generous support through donations and sponsorship has turned this idea into reality, and the interest shown throughout the town proves what an exciting and resort changing venture this really was.

BRIG, was set up by Greg Courtney and Dave Morris in early 2007. They felt very proud of their town, in fact they were extremely passionate about it so much that they decided to try and make a difference.  They believed that some areas of the town needed improving and felt the need to channel their frustrations in a much more positive and direct manner.

Eager Volunteers lend a hand

Their first major step towards their aims was the complete transformation of Jubilee Road through the planting of shrubs, plants and new trees.

The visual effect is stunning and it revitalised a once bland and dour area.
